silversphere is the work of London born, California based Ben Byrne.

In 2005, energized by everything from US Noise-Pop to Japanese New-Wave, he recorded and produced his debut album - Songs of Longing & Loss – dealing in the main, as the name suggests, with the sad and eternal themes of Love, Death, Beauty and Solitude.

It was released on silversound Records in May 2006.

Combining explosive post-punk drive with lilting, acoustic beauty, soft tripping pianos with spectral guitars and passionate vocals, silversphere carries soulful traces of Bowie, echoes of the melodic pop melancholy of the Cure, the heartfelt rock of REM and U2.

At turns urgent, at others melting, silversphere combines the hard and the bleak with the gentle and the haunting.

The result is an album of power and poignancy - Ghost Rock.
